Katana Slot Review
You might already know Novomatic's Katana slot as it was released in land-based under the title "Shogun". Licensing restrictions meant a change of name when it was released online. But whatever way you look at it, Katana is a very good slot - although pretty volatile! It's actually starting to crop up more and more in UK casinos on
the Novomatic Gaminator machines too.
Getting the bonus feature is the key (not unlike most
Novomatic slots to be honest and that in itself is no mean feat! But when you do, you get expanding wild symbols added into the mix and this is where the big payouts are at. It's frustrating when you get the bonus round and none of these little beauties show but that's the nature of the beast. It's a risk-reward thing!
You'll recognise a lot of the sounds and the feel of the Katana slot instantly as Novomatic keep it constant through all their slots including the popular
Book Of Ra Deluxe and popular
Dolphins Pearl Deluxe. There are a few minor tweaks but they are all instantly recognisable as Novomatic games.
So the video I made above demonstrates the bonus round being triggered in Katana and shows how it plays out with the expanding wilds. Not the best result ever on this one but indicative of what you can expect. More information and a review is available on the
Katana slot page at bookofraslot.com - it's a more detailed review of Katana but the site also has more info on my other favourite Novomatic games - or alternatively, check out the
Katana Slots microsite which - like this site - is part of the Slotjunkies network.
